Loronzo H. “Ronnie” Thomson, the founder of L.H. Thomson, grew up in Middle Georgia. Macon is home to the International Cherry Blossom Festival, a yearly festival that celebrates the blooming of Macon’s countless cherry blossom trees. It’s a two-week, family-friendly festival with many events and musical acts. Other popular festivals and events in Macon include Bragg Jam Music Festival and Macon Film Festival.

Macon’s surrounding cities also offer exciting and family friendly amenities. Lane Southern Orchards in Fort Valley, Georgia, grows delicious peaches and strawberries. In fact, Fort Valley is the peach capital of the world! Warner Robins has top-rated public schools and is home to Robins Air Force Base and the Museum of Aviation. Every year, Middle Georgians flock to Perry for the Georgia National Fair, a “Top 50 Fair” according to Amusement Business Magazine.
