Loronzo H. “Ronnie” Thomson, the founder of L.H. Thomson, grew up in Middle Georgia. We believe that remembering your roots is the best motivation for innovation, and being located in Macon allows us to draw inspiration from our history. Macon is home to the International Cherry Blossom Festival, a yearly festival that celebrates the blooming of Macon’s countless cherry blossom trees. It’s a two-week, family-friendly festival with many events and musical acts. Other popular festivals and events in Macon include Bragg Jam Music Festival and Macon Film Festival.

Macon Bike Culture

Macon has made big strides in creating a more bike-friendly downtown by installing bike lanes, bike racks, and more street lighting. Macon and Middle Georgia have several local bike shops. Clubs and organizations, such as the Ocmulgee Mountain Bike Association, provide events and opportunities for group rides, and they promote a more bike-able city.

Macon is only a few hours south of the North Georgia Mountains, where there are numerous trails for both biking and hiking.

Surrounding Areas

Macon’s surrounding cities also offer exciting and family friendly amenities. Lane Southern Orchards in Fort Valley, Georgia, grows delicious peaches and strawberries. In fact, Fort Valley is the peach capital of the world! Warner Robins has top-rated public schools and is home to Robins Air Force Base and the Museum of Aviation. Every year, Middle Georgians flock to Perry for the Georgia National Fair, a “Top 50 Fair” according to Amusement Business Magazine.
