Product Finisher


Job Description

  • Hand finishes (de-burr, etc.) products in both Aerospace and Bicycle areas (Grind, sand, clean or polish parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces using hand tools and power tools.
  • Selects files or other abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of parts, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified and steps in finishing processes.
  • Check parts to print 100% (Verify quality of finished parts by inspecting them, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions or testing them.
  • Blend, trim, scrape or deburr parts to prints using chisels, scrapers or other hand tools and equipment.
  • Measure and mark parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
  • File grooved, contoured and irregular surfaces or metal objects to conform to print specifications.
  • Record product and processing data on specified forms.
  • Requisition tools as needed.
  • Pack up job to move on to the next operation.
  • Train other employees in hand finishing.
  • Must have fine motor skills so as not to scrap parts while completing hand finishing.
  • Must be able to wear dust mask and work in enclosed grinding room.
  • Know hand tools required for each situation.
  • Keep work area and shared areas clean and organized.
  • Sweep and mop floor around work area.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional shop environment. This role routinely uses standard shop equipment and requires care and precision while on the shop floor. Must walk all areas of the facility, be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, lift 40 pounds and stand on feet for an extended period of time.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
